Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources operates and maintains recreation centers that span the county from University Parkway to River Road, offering a variety of recreational opportunities.
- Programming at the recreation centers include fitness classes, pickleball, concerts, summer camps, craft shows and family events such as Merry Meals with Santa, Woodmere Bark and Englewood's Spring Carnival.
The recreation centers have rentable amenities including meeting rooms, picnic shelters, gymnasiums, and open space. These amenities can be used for camps, weddings, meetings, instructional classes, birthday parties and more!
The Ridge Teen Center
The Ridge Teen Center located at Bee Ridge Park, 4430 S. Lockwood Ridge Road, Sarasota, is a free after school drop-in teen center. Designed for youth ages 11-17, The Ridge provides a safe and supervised space where teens can engage in recreation, learning and fun.
Membership is required to attend. Teens can sign up for this FREE membership with their parent or guardian onsite. Once a member, teens can visit independently and enjoy all the amenities The Ridge has to offer. Hours of Operation are Monday - Friday 3 p.m. - 8 p.m.
