Learn how to spot and identify birds in their natural habitat during this beginner-friendly birding program. Participants of all ages will discover the basics of bird identification, observation techniques and the tools birders use to find and recognize different species.
Through hands-on activities, participants will explore the fascinating adaptations that help birds survive and thrive in a variety of environments. The program will also highlight the important role Florida's natural lands play in supporting resident and migratory birds and how land conservation helps protect the habitats these species depend on.
This program is suitable for all ages. Participants younger than 16 must attend with a parent or guardian.
Participants should bring a water bottle and wear weather-appropriate clothing. Sun protection, insect repellent and closed-toe shoes are recommended. Flip-flops are not permitted. Restrooms and a water fountain are available on-site.
